How to set up Kontrol X1 for Serato
If you have been DJing in the last few years, then you know that controllers are becoming widely used. Personally, I use turntables with Dicers. But I just picked up a Traktor Kontrol X1 to expand my capabilities, mainly to control effects and loops. After testing some other controllers that are similar, I settled on this one, and its way better than some of the other controllers out there. However, it was NOT easy to set up. Watch the video below for a run-through and instructions, and click through for download links and more thoughts on this controller.
How to map Traktor Kontrol X1 with Serato, easy setup
So, as mentioned above, this thing is not east to set up for Serato. The video explains some issues to help. Basically though, if you click on this link below, you can get this controller up and running in just a few minutes, just download the files and follow the instructions in the ReadMe file:

There are many controllers out there to choose from, but this one takes the cake. Its very small and can integrate into your existing setup very easily. Also, if you use Itch, or Tractor, or even Serato, you can use this as your only interface. Meaning, you can DJ with just this and your computer. You would have to setup the mappings accordingly though.
Overall, this controller is worth the $200 price tag and it is built to last. The knobs are very nice and the buttons have good response (the dicer buttons are better). If I were forced to choose between the Dicers and Kontrol X1, I would choose the Dicers, but the controllers are too different. Using them together is the way to go.

this is really awesome. thank you so much for posting all these files and for taking the time to set this up.
i have one question – does the HOTCUE button need to be on (on green) in order for the X1 to work? i uploaded everything correctly, but when i hold shift and hotcue to turn it off, the x1 doesn’t seem to work.
any ideas?
