Crizzly’s Remix of Thrift Shop by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
Thrift Shop, you heard of it? I know you have. Its this year's unlikely chart topper, hitting #1 on Billboard a few weeks back and still holding the #1 or #2 position depending on what chart you look at. Also, their newer song, "Can't Hold Us", is flying up the charts and is currently also holding a #1 or #2 position depending on the chart you are looking at. Anyhow, Lets talk Crizzly, if you dont know, its time to know him. He is an amazing artist and this remix is good. There is a saying "Crizzly fixed it", this song didn't really need fixing (aside from the over exposure), but this remix is good and will breath a bit of life back into the song for any DJ that is completely sick of it. One question, where is the music video version!? That would be cool.
If you click to soundcloud and click download, itll take you to Crizzly's fb page for a free download (or just click that link).

The album will drop on May 21st, but you can get the new song right now on iTunes, click to go there! This song is going the be the song of the summer! Get it now and be the first to pay it this weekend at the clubs. This album is going to be big too, but this song is infectious. The track was leaked around the internet a couple days ago, people were on the fence left wondering if it was the real thing or not. If it wasnt real, it was close. But now you can get it officially. This song will get into your mind, body, and soul. Singing on the track is Pharell Williams, on guitar is the amazing Nile Rodgers, and of course the robots (Daft Punk).
Daft Punk “Random Access Memory” – The Collaborators: Giorgio Moroder
When was the last time you were actually excited about a release of a full length album? I can't remember the last time for myself. This time, its Ramdom Access Memory by Daft Punk. I have a feeling that this album is going to be epic and have TONS of great dance tracks on it. The album cover is great, with the Thriller-like cursive writing and the robot heads! Judging an album by its cover is okay by me in this case. So, we are here to talk about The Collaborators. The Collaborators is a video series that talks with the people that made Daft Punk's new album possible. This is Episode 1 with Giorgio Moroder. Its great! Watch it more than once! Click through for the album cover and more links to this amazing new album. I cant wait to hear it!
DJ Shu, The 2013 Beats By Dre DJ Battle Champ at Rock and Soul
Today, the legendary NYC DJ store, Rock and Soul, teamed up with Beats by Dre and had a DJ battle. The rules were Vinyl only and each DJ had 2 minutes to rock the house. It was mainly guys scratching and juggling There were a few body tricks and lots of "fresh"s and "ahhh"s. But the overall winner of the competition was NYCelectro.com's own DJ Shu! He won the new Beats By Dre - Mixr, created by David Guetta. To top it off, once the battle was finished, Tony Touch came out and did a special performance. Click through for more pics! Also, check back as we may be adding video to the post, provided by the patrons and Rock and Soul.
Any DJ or Photographer needs a good camera strap
Lets face it, its important to take pics and video of your events to show how great you are to the world. And most of us use a DSLR of some sort which means you need a nice camera strap. A fashion designer friend of NYCelectro.com, Melissa Patenaude of A7 Branding Firm, has designed these extremely high quality, leather, camera straps. They are designed in brooklyn and 100% produced in Brooklyn, a true made in the USA product. Click here to participate in their crowd funded efforts (like kickstarter but they are called Smallknot and its more focused on local small businesses), and be the first to get these amazing camera straps, but act fast because you only have 2 days left to get in on the pre-orders. Below is the making of video, and click through for more pictures and videos of the straps. >jump

Paris Hilton, the faux DJ
On Paris Hilton's debut as a DJ it was filled with embarrassing moments and was widely reported on. NYCelectro didnt want to give her the press, but now its just getting dumb. Not only was her set pre-recorded, she played it badly. Now she is at it again. Looks like the same stage hand DJ is sighlently still fixing her set. Just let her fail!
Afrojack, who is dating her, should be embarrassed and sounds like he is. Listen below, and the original video of her messing up and further insight is after the jump.
DJ A-Trak: Don’t Push My Buttons (from huff post)
Sometimes there is that content that is so great that it must be re-posted. A-Trak is weighing in on DJs on the big stage that actually DJ their track or Producers that just push play. Personally, I (DJ Color TV) am a real turntable DJ and when I make a remix, I save it out so I can play it live with 2 turntables and my sample player. That is the entire idea behind The HD Project. A-Trak actually DJs his stuff too, obviously, so keep reading to see what he says. Its very interesting. via huffingtonpost.com
