How to set up Kontrol X1 for Serato
If you have been DJing in the last few years, then you know that controllers are becoming widely used. Personally, I use turntables with Dicers. But I just picked up a Traktor Kontrol X1 to expand my capabilities, mainly to control effects and loops. After testing some other controllers that are similar, I settled on this one, and its way better than some of the other controllers out there. However, it was NOT easy to set up. Watch the video below for a run-through and instructions, and click through for download links and more thoughts on this controller.

Sennheiser HD 25-1 II Custom Adidas Headphones are Pretty Bad-Assed
Remember the review on headphones a while back? I almost picked up the regular Sennheiser HD 25 headphones. They sound absolutely great and now you get match them to your freshest Adidas gear. These are pretty cool. These are a bit more pricy than the non-Adidas branded headphone. Check-em-out! More info and pics after the jump!
Girl Talk’s new Album, get it here (sorta)
This past Monday, Novermber 15th, everyone's favorite non-DJ, Girl Talk, released his 5th album entitled "All Day". You can download it for free. I have been listening to it and its everything you would expect from Girl Talk these days, and its great! Mashups/remixes times 10. One of the best parts of listing to this is that he does many of these mixes live. Some are pre-mixed (obviously), but for the most part, its live. Click through for the download link, more album art, and the track listings.
Video Review: Allen and Heath Xone XD-53 Headphones
Recently, I embarked on a mission to find the best DJ headphones, as my pair recently broke. I have a pair of Sony MDR-V700 DJ headphones, a very popular set of DJ phones, but unfortunately, these tend to break/crack at the swivel point near the ear piece. This is a widely known problem, but they are good phones and are fairly cheep, running between $80 and $100 on the internet. When these broke on me, thats when I decided to upgrade to a better quality set of DJ headphones. After much research, I settled on the Allen and Heath Xone:XD-53 headphones. Click through to view the video review, pics, specs, and my comparison to some other competing DJ phones.

Rock the Bells – Show wrap-up (tons of Videos and Pics)
This past Saturday, as you already know from the post before, the 7th annual "Rock The Bells" concert happened. First things first, it was off the hook! The artists were called to do, from cover to cover, one of their classic albums. No one completelly stuck to the format, and some threw it out the window, but overall it was a very special event. These artists never really do their album hits on stage, just the most popular songs. It was quite a treat and all the hip-hop stars were there (either making a cameo on stage or just watching). NYCelectro.com had VIP passes, so click through for more pics, videos, and complete coverage of the event.
Novation Dicer, a video review by DJ Color TV
As promised, below is the video review of Novation's Dicer midi controller for Serato Scratch Live. These things are durable and snappy. There, from what I can tell, zero latency and they work great. You need Serato 2.1 to use them and as of now, it is only in public beta. This beta version is buggy, so I do not recommend using this version of serato at a gig.
Either way, these Dicers are really easy to use and will be a good addition to any Serato DJ. Links to Serato 2.1, the DIcer unboxing pictures, and video are after the jump:
