When was the last time you were actually excited about a release of a full length album? I can't remember the last time for myself. This time, its Ramdom Access Memory by Daft Punk. I have a feeling that this album is going to be epic and have TONS of great dance tracks on it. The album cover is great, with the Thriller-like cursive writing and the robot heads! Judging an album by its cover is okay by me in this case. So, we are here to talk about The Collaborators. The Collaborators is a video series that talks with the people that made Daft Punk's new album possible. This is Episode 1 with Giorgio Moroder. Its great! Watch it more than once! Click through for the album cover and more links to this amazing new album. I cant wait to hear it!
Every DJ needs a good bag. The problem is they are expensive and its hard to tell if you are buying what you need until you bring it home and pack it up. If its too tight, then thats no good, if its too big, same problem. Like Goldilocks, it needs to be just right. I found one that fits my needs, and more importantly, all my equipment. I have fit a lot in the Jetpack bag including a Rane 57, and it all fits quite comfortably. But don't get me wrong, if you have less stuff, the bag can be collapsed down and be smaller, so thats good. Its the Jetpack DJ Bag. Checkout the video so see the rest of my take on this bag. Also there are many pics of this bag and more info, like where to buy it, after the jump:

If you are in NYC and have not been to M1-5 yet, you are missing out. Every Saturday night, NYCelectro.com's own DJ Lazor spins the best dance music in the city. The place is big and non-pretentious, and there are always plenty of girls (or guys) to dance with, the place stays full. Rarely there is a long line, but most of the time people get right in. Anyhow, check out Lazor right here, and then go see him on Saturday nights at M1-5! Click through for more pictures of the night and some other custom DJ Lazor remix videos.
Lets face it, its important to take pics and video of your events to show how great you are to the world. And most of us use a DSLR of some sort which means you need a nice camera strap. A fashion designer friend of NYCelectro.com, Melissa Patenaude of A7 Branding Firm, has designed these extremely high quality, leather, camera straps. They are designed in brooklyn and 100% produced in Brooklyn, a true made in the USA product. Click here to participate in their crowd funded efforts (like kickstarter but they are called Smallknot and its more focused on local small businesses), and be the first to get these amazing camera straps, but act fast because you only have 2 days left to get in on the pre-orders. Below is the making of video, and click through for more pictures and videos of the straps. >jump

On Paris Hilton's debut as a DJ it was filled with embarrassing moments and was widely reported on. NYCelectro didnt want to give her the press, but now its just getting dumb. Not only was her set pre-recorded, she played it badly. Now she is at it again. Looks like the same stage hand DJ is sighlently still fixing her set. Just let her fail!
Afrojack, who is dating her, should be embarrassed and sounds like he is. Listen below, and the original video of her messing up and further insight is after the jump.
Electric Zoo! One of NYC's best festivals of the year has landed! They just released their official trailer video. Check it out below. The line up is insane, including massive names like Tiësto, Skrillex, Steve Aoki, David Guetta and so many more. Including some of our NYCelectro.com favorite real DJs (whatever that is these days): DJ Z-Trip and A-Trak. Every day there will be 4 main areas/stages, so bring your clones to enjoy all the fun. The event flyers/lineups and ticket links are after the jump. See you all there! And I am sure we will be hosting some awesome after parties!
The Winter Music Conference was a few months back and as you may already know, yours truly, DJ Color TV came home with the 3rd place championship for the DJ Mixing Competition. There was also a scratching competition and a VJ or V-DJ competition, in which NYCelectro.com's own DJ Lazor competed in. The VJ competition was not the best run competition in the world and for sure it was the not managed well. It seemed as if the people running the competition were more worried about keeping the volume low than on the skill of the competitors. But that being said, the winners were great. Lazor may not have placed (they only named 1st and 2nd) but his set was great. Check it out below, also check out the winning sets and the real scoop/shit of the battles after the jump.
DJ Lazor- WMC 2012 VJ Challenge

DJ Color TV - 2012 WMC DJ-spinoff 3rd Place Champ
Last year, 2011, at the Winter Music Conference, I was at a pool party that had a hand full of DJs and acts. One act was this DJ crew and some singer on the mic. They turned out the party hard. They were pouring shots in girls mouths and bodys, and made everyone go nuts. The one break-out song that made everyone jump was "Killer" (videos after the jump:), I will add my video from the Miami show here soon. He was not the DJ though, that was covered by The Disco Fries. He was lead vocals and hes got a killer stage presence (no pun intended). Not the typical role of a DJ right? I like it...
On question number 10, he said something that I have been saying for years now: "Virtually anybody can say they are a DJ but what you do and how you do it is the difference between you saying, 'I’m a DJ' to people saying, 'That’s my favorite DJ.' "
That all said, he got nominated for a 2012 grammy, and for any DJ that is a HUGE deal! So read on, watch the videos and look ahead! This is not he last time Clinton Sparks will be heard from, its just the beginning. More info and the videos after the jump:
