DJ A-Trak: Don’t Push My Buttons (from huff post)

Sometimes there is that content that is so great that it must be re-posted. A-Trak is weighing in on DJs on the big stage that actually DJ their track or Producers that just push play. Personally, I (DJ Color TV) am a real turntable DJ and when I make a remix, I save it out so I can play it live with 2 turntables and my sample player. That is the entire idea behind The HD Project. A-Trak actually DJs his stuff too, obviously, so keep reading to see what he says. Its very interesting. via huffingtonpost.com

Everything is a Remix Project comes to a conclusion, Watch parts 1 – 4 here

Back in September of 2010, Kirby Ferguson brought us the first of 4 parts to "Everything is a Remix", a video project that explores remixing through all media and the copyright laws that have evolved around this phenomenon. Here, you can watch all 4 parts after the jump. Its very interesting to see all of the different places people have drawn inspiration from or "stolen" from, as it is today. Copyright law needs to be revised! But in the spirit of remixing and reusing other people's materials, I give you "Everything is a Remix" Parts 1 through 4. Click through to view:

Ear Wars: Tinnitus – Whats all that ringing?

This week, WNYC's Should Check show, they have been talking about the ears. Talking about headphone use, the history of headphones, tinnitus, and the sounds your ear produces. Those shows are embedded after the jump.

As DJ's, we need to really evaluate the issue of tinnitus, or the ringing in your ears. It can lead to some or complete hearing loss and is a very serious subject. They say its irreversible too. So how do we stop or slow this problem? The music is so loud at the club, what can we do? Lets find out...
